Tweeting THOMAS and connecting to Congress

16 August 2010 by Andrew Weber

We are a big Twitter this community Congress Library.  Library of Congress account will be closed is 100 000 descendants.  Law Library account has grown steadily since last October.I work with a colleague's tweet @ LawLibCongress account. Twitter can be a great tool to determine whether the legislation and what of the Congress of thinking.

  THOMAS

THOMAS you can tweet directly, using the example of the law, H.R. 1586, look in the upper-right corner, click Share, and save, and then Twitter.  Twitter will open in a new window (and assuming that you are logged in), you get:

THOMAS-Bill summary and status – H.R. 1586 – http://hdl.loc.gov/loc.uscongress/legislation.111hr1586

A couple of changes to normally before the tweeting a Hasbro Games Checks bill of materials.(I) be .gov THOMAS is added. (so that information can be found in the tweets and not only for all thomas.gov appointed Thomas), change the number of the laws of the hashtag (in which case it is easier to find the other), shorten the link and add a hashtag # usbill General. So it becomes something like this:

Thomas.gov weekly Top Bill – # HR1586-http://go.usa.gov/c8t # usbill

Congress

Twitter can quickly see what your member is thinking or working with multiple sites, is trying to pull together all the members of the Congress of the Twitter accounts. One, which focuses on particular Twitter is TweetCongress which proclaims:

We are the United States Government are more complete Tweeple establish communication and openness to the Congress of the United States of America hereby tweet.

Second, a Twitter, but it is slightly wider (including news and updates on YouTube) is Legistalker. The United States active in the newspaper, Hill, is a program administered by the tweets Twitter in the room, Hill, focusing on the blog.Or you can search for programs, such as the Congress of 411 (iPhone) or Congress (Android).

What happens to the Congress via Twitter to date there are several ways How you can keep?.
